Welcome

Welcome to St Peter’s Catholic Academy

Thank you for your interest in our school. If you are considering whether to send your child to St. Peter’s or if your child is about to join us for the first time, we warmly welcome you.

This website is intended to let you know more about the exciting work, achievements and life of our school.

St Peter’s is a place where children are cherished, where they enjoy learning and are encouraged to strive for excellence, with the loving example of Jesus Christ at its very heart. We are extremely proud of our school and all our staff and governors work tirelessly to provide the best possible education for the children in our care.

We aim to foster a shared responsibility between home, school and parish for the full development of each child in a secure and happy environment - when parents/guardians and school work together, we are successful in ensuring that all pupils reach their full potential. Every child is a unique gift of God and each is uniquely talented and we strive to instil a sense of pride and ambition in each and every child in our care.

At St Peter’s, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum with many enrichment opportunities and high standards of behaviour are an expectation for all children within our school. We work closely with the schools in our multi academy, The Newman Catholic Collegiate, to share expertise and good practice so that we are constantly improving our provision.

Only by experiencing the atmosphere of our school first hand will you discover what we have to offer. Therefore, I encourage you to make a visit to speak to our amazing staff and experience our learning environment for yourself.

I look forward to welcoming you.

Yours sincerely,

Mr A Hodgson

Welcome from our Head Pupils

Welcome to St. Peter’s Catholic Academy where everyone is valued and is treated with respect. With a new Principal and excellent staff, our school is a happy environment. We all believe in our mission statement ‘Together, one family, one community in Christ.’ We are a multicultural school and respect each other’s individuality and we all come together as part of God’s great family.

Here at St. Peter’s we are given many opportunities to engage and expand our learning. Staff are very good at helping us whenever we need it. Teachers plan exciting lessons so we can have fun and learn at the same time. They also try to find websites and APPs and other things to help us. Our teachers also do booster classes to give us extra support, whenever we need it.

At St. Peter’s, we take part in very challenging but exciting events. Each year, students at St. Peter’s take part in our Sports Day in the summer. Annually, our fantastic Young Voices choir go to Birmingham to represent our school by singing with their beautiful voices. In our school we have iPads which we can use to play TT Rockstars which help us with our times tables. In addition to this, we all work extremely hard to plan exciting fundraisers and charity events so that we can donate to our local community. We all have a role in working together to make a difference.

The staff at St. Peter’s offer support to those who need it and they strive to make our education immersive and effective. At St. Peter’s staff are always kind and caring and they treat us with respect and a heart-warming smile. Everyone is amazing to talk to. We are valued and safe at St. Peter’s. We work hard and always try our best.

Thank you for reading this warm welcome given from the Head and Deputy pupils. We hope you consider our school for your child. You are more than welcome to come for a visit, and see for yourself just how wonderful we are.
