How to Volunteer

St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School lies at the heart of the parish community and it benefits from lots of helpers.

The help we receive from parents and parishioners is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff.  Parents interested in helping within school, and who have the necessary free time, should speak to the school office and Mrs Hackney.

Parents can help in many different ways, including:

  • Sharing skills and interests e.g. talking about their job, helping with computer activities
  • Listening to children read
  • Accompanying children on educational visits
  • Making costumes for productions

Regular helpers in school are all checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB check) and would also need a right to work in the UK in line with child protection guidelines.
